Wrist/Hand Pain

Wrist and hand pain can develop from repetitive use, an injury, prolonged computer or phone use, sports, or changes in the way you use your body following an injury or surgery. Although symptoms may be felt primarily in the hand or wrist, the forces traveling through the arm are influenced by the shoulder, neck, upper back, rib cage, and posture. Restrictions or compensations in these areas can change how the arm moves and how load is distributed through the wrist and hand.

Rolfing Structural Integration works with these broader relationships rather than treating the wrist as an isolated structure. By addressing restrictions throughout the arm and upper body and exploring how you organize your movement, Rolfing may complement rehabilitation and help restore greater mobility, flexibility, and coordination. This can be particularly relevant when wrist or hand pain is accompanied by shoulder pain, neck pain and tension, poor posture, or recurring movement limitations. The goal is to help your body find more efficient and comfortable ways to move, not simply to chase the location of the pain.
