Neck and Shoulder tension
In today’s age, how many of us are either looking down at our phones or sitting down at a desk for 8 hours a day? When we sit in any position for an extended amount of time, the lack of movement trains our body to make it easier to stay in that position. Fascia sticks the surrounding structures together to save energy- now muscles don’t have to work to access that repeated position. Your traps jump to your ears, your pecs close, and 10 years down the line you have a hunch back. This is usually accompanied by a low back that has over-worked to compensate. Rolfing helps neck and shoulder tension by slowly unwinding years of postural habits. We’ll teach the low back how to support the upper back, and teach the upper back how to move with effortless versatility.
I use precise, intentional techniques to unstick those structures and help your nervous system adopt a more efficient, less painful way of moving and holding itself, so the changes last.
